Repairs and Appraisals
Repairs and appraisals are where a jeweler earns a relationship, and they are usually the part the software forgets. Trovv takes the job in with photographs and a promised date, assigns it to a bench jeweler, tracks it to delivery, takes the deposit through the same payment screen as a sale, and files the whole thing on the customer's record where the next salesperson can see it.
What you get
- Your own Blue Book: Repair Jobs and Rates prices every job from your shop rates, with no outside price book to subscribe to
- Type of Repair picked from your Blue Book at intake, with the price suggested and changeable for that repair only
- A job that is not in the book is added from the intake screen in seconds and is there for next time
- Repair intake with item description, work required, quantity, and pricing per line
- Photographs captured at intake, so the condition it arrived in is on record
- Assigned bench jeweler, promised date, and status through to delivery
- Deposits and final payment through the same POS payment flow, including card, bank payment, and check
- Printed repair order and customer receipt with your branding and disclaimer
- Estimates that convert to repairs without re-entering the job
- Appraisal documents with item values, owner details, and signature block
- Appraisal renewal alerts so lapsed valuations are followed up
- Every repair and appraisal carried on the customer's history alongside their purchases
Your own Blue Book, built in
Most systems price repairs by connecting to an outside price book. Trovv keeps the price book in the store: set your price of one sizing, your metal markup, and the gold price once, and every job in Repair Jobs and Rates is priced from them. When your rates change, the whole book changes with them.
Priced at the counter, in one pick
At intake, Type of Repair is a list from your Blue Book and the price fills in on its own. The person taking the repair can adjust it for that customer; the book itself stays as it is. A job that is not in the list is added on the spot and selected.
Take it in properly
A repair taken in on a paper envelope is a dispute waiting to happen. Trovv records the piece, the work required, the price, the promised date, and photographs of how it arrived, then prints the customer a proper repair order.
Know where every job is
Assign the work to a bench jeweler and track status from received to ready to delivered. When a customer calls to ask, the answer is on screen rather than in someone's memory.
Paid like any other sale
Deposits and balances run through the same payment screen as the register, so a repair deposit taken by card or bank payment carries the same audit and lands in the same reporting as a counter sale.
Appraisals that stay current
Issue appraisal documents with values, owner details, and a signature block, then let renewal alerts surface valuations that are aging out. An expired appraisal is a reason to call a customer, not a record to forget.
It all lands on the customer
Purchases, layaways, repairs, and appraisals sit on one profile. The person at the counter sees the whole relationship before the customer reaches the case.
